Wissam Ben Yedder, French international and AS Monaco striker, targeted by a rape complaint

Monaco’s French international Wissam Ben Yedder is the subject of a rape complaint, Agence France-Presse learned on Thursday 13 July from the Nice public prosecutor’s office. The facts allegedly took place at the beginning of the week on the French Riviera, according to the same source.

This was announced by the public prosecutor of Nice, Xavier Bonhomme “the existence of two reports of rape and two victims, addressed to two people”including the Monegasque footballer, for facts such as “he would have been busy on Monday at Beausoleil”commune of the Alpes-Maritimes department, confirming the first information from France Info.

No hearings or custody at this time

According to France Infotwo young women aged 19 and 20 accuse Wissam Ben Yedder, her other brother, of having forced sexual acts on them “after an evening all four of us spent on July 10 in Beausoleil”. According to our colleagues, no hearing or custody of the interviewees has yet taken place.

Aged 32, Ben Yedder made his professional debut in Toulouse before joining Spanish club Sevilla FC in 2016. Returning to France in 2019, under AS Monaco colours, he made 19 caps for France, for whom he scored three goals .

In April he was sentenced by the Seville court to 6 months’ imprisonment with suspended sentence and a fine of 133,798.70 euros for tax evasion.

Ben Yedder was present on 3 July for the resumption of training in Munich, where a new coach, Austrian Adi Hütter, is taking charge this season.
